Two key tweaks that have sparked United’ upturn in form is 1) bringing Kobbie Mainoo back into the team and 2) playing captain Bruno Fernandes higher up the pitch.
The latter of these two has seen Fernandes go within one of breaking the all-time single season assist record held by both Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne with 20.
United could secure third place if results go their way across the weekend which will be a big feather in Carrick’s cap.
As for Sunderland. Le Bris’ team have been a breath of fresh air in their first season back in the top flight taking points off the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City.
