Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday said he believed the conflict in Ukraine was coming to its end. He also made it clear that he would only meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once a lasting peace deal was agreed.
When asked whether he was open to holding talks with European leaders, he said former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder would be the preferred person for such discussions.
He also hoped that the Iran conflict would end as soon as possible but that if it did not then everyone would lose out.
