Vladimir Putin has declared “victory has always been and always will be ours” in a chilling speech during Russia’s Victory Day parade – as his nuclear briefcase appeared to be carried nearby.
Security was tight in Moscow as the Russian president and several foreign leaders attended the parade. Bodyguards carrying black bags likely to be fold-out bulletproof shields were seen close to Putin on Red Square.
The Russian ruler’s nuclear briefcase was reportedly also carried by security nearby.
