Is there anything more ‘Corporate America’ than having a fast food mascot sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ before the first pitch of a minor league baseball game?
Fans attending a Triple-A baseball game between the Charlotte Knights and Gwinett Stripers were stunned when the person tabbed with singing the National Anthem was none other than Ronald McDonald.
Attendees and ballplayers couldn’t believe their eyes when the McDonald’s clown mascot began to sing the song.
A few Knights stars couldn’t keep a straight face while the clown belted out the tune.
‘You never know what you’ll see in the ballpark,’ the Knights official account captioned in a post to Instagram featuring a video of the mascot.
Barstool Sports shared the clip and captioned it, ‘You could have 1000 tries and never guess who is singing this national anthem.’

Barstool’s tweet got a response from the official McDonald’s account which said, ‘that one friend that always has a new job.’
Other fans reacted in the comments as well, laughing at the situation and the players who couldn’t control their laughs.
One image of a chuckling player was captioned, ‘Dude was fighting for his life not to laugh.’
‘This is the most American thing I’ve ever seen,’ said another user.
‘the way I had zero expectations and still wasn’t ready for that voice,’ said another user.
The only thing that could have been more surprising than Ronald McDonald belting out the anthem was the final score of the game itself.
