Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has issued a clear Arsenal verdict with Paris Saint-Germain set to be their opponents in the Champions League final
Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed he is expecting a “difficult” Champions League final against Arsenal. Luis Enrique’s side joined the Gunners in advancing to Budapest on Wednesday night courtesy of a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich, with the holders winning 6-5 on aggregate.
Kvaratskhelia, who has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal, grabbed the assist for his side’s goal on the night and has now issued a verdict on the upcoming final and the path to get there.
He said: “Very happy we’re in the final. We know it will be difficult against Arsenal. Bayern is one of the best teams right now. It was very difficult. The hardest one in the season. We showed we can play against these teams. I will give everything for this badge.”
Enrique was also delighted with the outcome and is likely hoping for an enjoyable May in which PSG lift a third trophy of the season.

He said: “We’re so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row. In two days I’m going to celebrate my birthday. I’m very happy. We’re in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League. We want to give our supporters that kind of gift.”
A late Harry Kane goal saw nerves emerge but PSG held out for the final seconds with jubilant scenes following the full-time whistle. In the Arsenal camp, the response and celebrations were very similar, with Mikel Arteta making his feelings very clear.
The Gunners boss said: “It’s an incredible night, we made history again together, and I cannot be happier, prouder for everybody that’s involved in this football club.
“The atmosphere, our support has created the energy, the way he managed every ball with us, they made it special and unique, I never felt that in the stadium.
“We knew how much it meant to everybody, we put everything, the boys did an incredible job, and after 20 years and a second time in our history, we are back in the Champions League final.”
When discussing and celebrating the achievement, many Arsenal players were focused on getting revenge over PSG as they were knocked out by them in last season’s semi-final.
Before the two meet in Hungary, the Premier League title is the focus with Arsenal three games away from finally claiming that piece of domestic silverware.
Five points is the gap to Manchester City but that could be cut down to two this coming Saturday and the following Tuesday with Pep Guardiola’s playing first and then contesting their game in hand.
Relegation-threated West Ham United, Championship-bound Burnley and Crystal Palace, potentially days before their own European final, are the Gunners’ final three opponents this season.
