Arsenal already know which kit they are likeliest to wear for the Champions League final as UEFA decision explained after draw taken
Arsenal could be forced to play in their away kit for the UEFA Champions League final, with either Bayern Munich or PSG set to be designated the home team in Budapest. The Gunners progressed to what is just their first final in 20 years after knocking out Atletico Madrid in the semi-final.
Bukayo Saka tapped in wearing the red and white at the Emirates Stadium to score the vital winner, but could instead be wearing either the club’s blue zig-zag away kit or their white and burgundy third kit for the final. This is because of how the Champions League bracket system works.
Before the knockout stages, teams were drawn into either the blue or the silver bracket. This is how Arsenal avoided the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and the two other semi-finalists.

Many Arsenal fans celebrated their blue bracket status because of the more favourable ties which have seemingly come to pass. Wins over Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP, and now Atletico Madrid will see them travel to Budapest.
But they will be in the away dressing room of the Puskas Arena, and could be without their red and white home kit. That will ultimately depend on who wins between Bayern Munich and PSG.
When Arsenal played PSG home and away last season, they wore their red and white home kit in both legs, due to the Parisians’ dark blue kit, which contrasts well with the Gunners’ home strip. However, Bayern were forced to switch to their black away kit when they played at The Emirates in November.
Should PSG progress, Arsenal will be expected to wear their home shirt for the final. However, if Bayern go through, then it is expected the Gunners will wear their blue away kit.
Just as they were in 2006, when Sol Campbell scored against Barcelona wearing the yellow strip from the 2005/06 season, it could be back-to-back Champions League finals not wearing red and white.
When Arsenal lost to Bayern in Germany in 2024, the Bundesliga champions had a predominantly white shirt with red sleeves, and Arsenal wore their then-green and navy blue third shirt. Now Bayern’s current home kit is predominantly red, it makes sense that the blue zig-zag shirt will be adorned for the history clash in Hungary.
