Arsenal claimed a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid to reach the Champions League final
Atletico Madrid star Giuliano Simeone has expressed his frustration at a key decision during their defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final.
The Gunners defeated the La Liga outfit 1-0 in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium to secure passage to the final later this month.
Bukayo Saka scored the decisive goal for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side claimed a 2-1 victory on aggregate against Atletico.
The win means that Arsenal will travel to Budapest later this month for the Champions League final, where they will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich for the chance to win their first ever European Cup.
However, the win against Atletico was not without its controversial moments, including one with Simeone, who has posted on Instagram to show his frustration.

The post from the Atletico forward shows two still images taken from the TV coverage of Arsenal’s win on Tuesday night, including one that showed Simeone battling for possession with Riccardo Calafiori.
Atletico wanted a penalty for an apparent push by Calafiori on Simeone, but the offside flag was raised, meaning no spot-kick was awarded.
The second photo posted by Simeone showed the moment Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak kicked the ball to Simeone, which appeared to show the forward inside his own half at the moment of the kick, which under the laws of the game would not be offside.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who is also the father of the aforementioned forward of the La Liga outfit, spoke after the game and was quick to praise both Arsenal and Arteta for the victory.

“I think Mikel Arteta has done an incredible job at Arsenal,” the Atletico boss said. “He’s been trying to get to this point for a long time, to reach the Champions League (final) and to win the league.
“They have incredible financial power, and that’s linked to what they’re doing. I’m really pleased for them. They deserve it. They’ve been working very hard for many years.”
Arsenal now have to play their final three Premier League fixtures before taking on either PSG or Bayern Munich in the final in Budapest later this month.
The second semi-final will take centre stage at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Wednesday night, where Arsenal will then discover their opponents for the final.
