Tottenham have shared an update on Xavi Simons after the Netherlands midfielder injured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) against Wolves last month
Tottenham have confirmed that Xavi Simons has undergone surgery after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. Simons came off midway through the second half of last month’s 1-0 win against Wolves after going down following a challenge from Matt Doherty.
Roberto De Zerbi cut a concerned figure in his post-match press conference and it was later revealed that Simons has torn his ACL and is set for a lengthy spell out on the sidelines.
Now, more than week after sustaining the injury, Simons has since gone under the knife and is now poised to begin his load road to fitness.
In an update on X on Tuesday evening, Tottenham posted a picture of Simons in his hospital bed along with the caption: “Surgery complete [black tick emoji].
“We’ll be with you every step of the way during your recovery @xavisimons [white love heart emoji].”
Simons is expected to be out until at least 2027. He will therefore miss the remainder of this season, the World Cup with the Netherlands and the first half of the following campaign.
