Here is everything you need to know on when Arsenal could lift the Premier League title and if they could do so at home to Burnley on Monday, May 18.
Arsenal CAN win the Premier League title at Emirates Stadium against Burnley, but they would at least require Manchester City to draw both or lose one of their next two games before they host the Clarets on Monday, May 18.
The gap between the two teams is five points after Pep Guardiola’s side drew 3-3 at Everton Monday evening.
City host Brentford next on Saturday, before Arsenal’s trip to West Ham this Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side could close the gap to just two points as they also face Crystal Palace next Wednesday.
Maximum points from those two City fixtures at the Etihad Stadium and Arsenal winning at West Ham would see Mikel Arteta’s side with a lead of two points.
If City drew both games, Arsenal would be able to win the title even with a draw as City would be on 73 points with two games remaining while the Gunners would hit a tally of 80.
City’s match against Bournemouth, which would have taken place on FA Cup final weekend, has been moved to the following Tuesday, 24 hours on from Arsenal against Burnley, due to their involvement in the showpiece clash at Wembley against Chelsea.
As long as Arsenal win all of their remaining games, they will win the Premier League title.
They can even afford to draw one of those matches due to their goal difference currently being better than City’s.
