Tottenham Hotspur’s squad could look markedly different next season if the club stay in the Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur will face several major decisions in the summer transfer window if the club achieve Premier League survival. New manager Roberto De Zerbi may look to overhaul his squad to ensure Spurs do not find themselves back in relegation trouble.
It has been a miserable campaign for Tottenham, who earned their first league win since December last weekend. The team sit two points adrift of safety and have four games left to save their top-flight status.
Should Spurs achieve their objective, De Zerbi will be determined to revamp his options. Here, football.london looks at how a dream Spurs squad could shape up for the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Goalkeepers
Guglielmo Vicario has been first-choice since arriving in 2023 but Spurs could be set to make a change between the sticks. The 29-year-old is a reported target for Inter Milan and De Zerbi may decide to place his faith in a different goalkeeper.
Antonin Kinsky has looked assured in his recent appearances, bouncing back from his setback against Atletico Madrid earlier this season. The 23-year-old would have the chance to step up as number one if Vicario opts to leave the club.
The Daily Mail has linked Spurs with an interest in Freiburg and Germany U21 international Noah Atubolu, who could provide credible competition for Kinsky. Meanwhile, Brandon Austin retains his spot as third-choice goalkeeper.
Defenders
Premier League survival would allow Spurs to keep hold of their defensive stars, such as Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie. However, the club could cash in on Micky van de Ven, who has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, after falling short of their season objectives and missing out on European football.
Selling Van de Ven creates space in De Zerbi’s side for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, who is set to be available as a free agent. The 28-year-old has emerged as a target and ensuring Premier League survival would ensure the deal gets done. Similarly, Andy Robertson could join De Zerbi’s squad after ending his time at Liverpool.
Returning Hamburg loanee Luka Vuskovic will offer cover at centre-back along with Kevin Danso, while Radu Dragusin is moved on this summer. At full-back, Djed Spence is an alternative to Porro, while young left-back Souza will be loaned out following Robertson’s arrival. Spurs staying in the Premier League also sees Ben Davies leave at the end of his deal this summer.
Midfielders
Escaping relegation would allow Joao Palhinha to make his loan move from Bayern Munich permanent for around £21.7million. De Zerbi is already well-stocked in midfield but is unlikely to part with the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall as part of his rebuild.
Pape Matar Sarr is reported to be in talks over a move to Fenerbahce and would be allowed to leave, while Yves Bissouma is nearing the end of his deal. The Spurs boss will hopefully be bolstered by returning duo James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski after long-term injuries.
The pair will provide competition for Xavi Simons, who suffered his own injury problem at the weekend. Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur and Conor Gallagher offer depth in the middle of the pitch.
Forwards
Spurs could be set to make several changes in attack after a disappointing campaign. Randal Kolo Muani is unlikely to have his loan spell extended while Richarlison and Mathys Tel have struggled to fire Spurs to safety.
The club have been linked with a shock move for Marcus Rashford if he fails to seal a permanent move to Barcelona. The England international would make the left flank his own, with Wilson Odobert providing another option.
Spurs could stay in the Premier League at West Ham’s expense, which would present a chance for De Zerbi to land Hammers skipper Jarrod Bowen in another marquee dea l . A fully fit Mohammad Kudus would face genuine competition on the right flank.
Dominic Solanke would continue to lead the line. However, Al-Hilal striker Marcos Leonardo may serve as a new back-up forward after being linked with a move to Spurs. The 22-year-old Brazilian previously played for Santos and Benfica.
