Mason Mount has all but confirmed that he will still be a Manchester United player next season, despite rumours suggesting that he could depart the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea for a fee of €67.7 million back in 2023, but he has endured an injury-hit spell at the club, making just 23 Premier League starts since his arrival.
Mount had been expected to provide strong competition for club captain Bruno Fernandes, however injuries have severely restricted his involvement for the Red Devils and he has scored just seven goals in 69 games for the club to date.
His current contract at Man Utd is due to expire in 2028 and reports have indicated that he is one of several players who could be sold if a suitable offer is submitted this summer.
Multiple Premier League clubs have been touted as possible destinations for Mount in recent months and with Man Utd officials confident that Fernandes will reject a move away in favour of remaining at Old Trafford for another season, the ex-Chelsea man has been tipped to leave.
However, the former England international, who hasn’t played for his country since the defeat to France in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, has no intention of departing Man Utd, and he believes a Premier League title push could even be on the cards next season.

Speaking to BBC Sport at a two-day Make A Wish foundation event at George’s Park, Mount admitted: “I’ve won the Champions League already, so I have a goal of winning the Premier League. Can we do that? Yes, I think we can.
“It may seem a little bit far away, but you must have that mentality to really push yourself as a group.
“We’ve shown what we can do against the big teams already; Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, so we’ve done it. Now it’s about doing it on a bigger stage in the Champions League and doing it more consistently in the Premier League.
“Hopefully, I will be a massive part of that moving forward next season. It’s a goal: I want to win the Premier League.”
Mount hasn’t started a league match for Man Utd since the 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day, but he is confident of establishing himself as a key player for the Red Devils next season, with a transfer away not under consideration.
“I will always back myself,” he added. “I know what I’m about and what I can bring. I love being a part of a massive club. It’s my third season and it’s flown [by].
“I’m a bit older now and I’ve got a bit more experience. There are going to be a lot more games next season. Being a part of getting this club back to the top, where it deserves to be, is super special.
“I’ve had a little taste of winning something with the club, in the FA Cup. That was unbelievable. To do a Premier League? I can’t even imagine how special that would be.”
