Philadelphia sports fans have never been shy when it comes to letting their athletes know exactly how they feel when it comes to poor performances.
The NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in six years and were playing the cross-state rival Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.
Unlike the Flyers, the MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies are doing very poorly at the start of their season.
The Phillies currently sit at 10-19 on their season, fourth in the NL East and have already fired their manager Rob Thomson.
So when the Phillies got themselves a luxury box for Game 6 of the ‘Battle of Pennsylvania’ on Wednesday night, they were not welcomed with a warm reception.
Video taken from inside Xfinity Mobile Arena showed the Phillies receiving resounding boos from Flyers fans who watched on.

Cam York scored the overtime winner to beat the Penguins and win the first round series
Fans on social media were stunned by the less-than-gracious atmosphere for the pro ball players.
‘Philly is DIFFERENT,’ wrote one user on X. Another said, ‘My god Philly is something else.’Â Â A third comment read, ‘Philly fans are brutal.’
But there were also plenty of Philadelphians who felt their rage was justified.
‘Nobody is tougher on us than us and don’t you forget it,’ read one post.
One user posted, ‘I mean they did lose 10 straight so um yeah.’Â
Another said, ‘deserve[d]. we don’t need their bad vibes rn.’
The Phillies ‘bad vibes’ didn’t affect the Flyers as defenseman Cam York scored an overtime game-winning-goal to claim a 1-0 victory that eliminated the hated Penguins and won Philadelphia the series four games to two.
They’ll advance to the second round where they’ll play the Carolina Hurricanes.Â
