Arteta likes Carreras

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is an “admirer” of Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras, CaughtOffside claims.

The Spain international returned to his boyhood club last summer after Real Madrid decided to trigger the €50 million release clause in his Benfica contract. Carreras has been a solid enough signing, though he has struggled in the biggest games.

Nevertheless, Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on the left-back, given that they could need a reinforcement in that department if Myles Lewis-Skelly opts to depart the club in search of regular minutes this summer.

Atletico Madrid will not consider a sale for less than €150 million, according to El Chiringuito.

The Spanish giants are ready to dig their heels in over the Argentine’s future, even if manager Diego Simeone has confirmed interest from Arsenal, Barcelona and PSG.

There is growing frustration at the club over the constant speculation, and president Enrique Cerezo was described as “visibly annoyed” when asked yet again about Alvarez’s future ahead of the Champions League clash with the Gunners.

The striker recently insisted that he “can’t keep denying everything,” which Mundo Deportivo interprets as Alvarez not closing the door to a potential move.

Arsenal eye “new Odegaard”

Arsenal are among the clubs interested in Fredrikstad youngster Eirik Granaas, as per TEAMtalk.

Dubbed the “new Martin Odegaard,” like every talented Norwegian teenager, Granaas has reportedly impressed scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Granaas broke Odegaard’s record when he made his debut in the Norwegian top flight aged 15 and 90 days. He is 16 now and features regularly off the bench for his side.

Bayern’s Eichhorn advantage

Bayern Munich have an advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn, as per Berliner Kurier.

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the biggest midfield talents in European football and expected to be on the move this summer, courtesy of a €12m release clause.

Despite this cheap clause, Bayern are willing to sweeten the deal for Hertha by offering them the chance to sign Maurice Krattenmacher, who is already on loan at the club.
