Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja Comes Alive This Thursday For Para-Powerlifting Championship

The usually serene atmosphere of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja is bound to come alive with a beehive of activities this Thursday, with the arrival of participants for this year’s Kingsley Iwodi Para-Powerlifting Open Championship.

Sports247 reports that a large array of physically challenged athletes, coaches, officials, stakeholders and journalists are expected to start trooping in on the official arrival date of Thursday, April 30th, while departure is Monday, May 4th.

The competition proper will hold from this Friday to Sunday in the sports hall of the stadium’s Package ‘B,’ on the outskirts of Abuja, where officials of Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation have already finalised plans for a flawless event.

A media statement by the organizing committee added, “The Kingsley Iwodi Open Championship is expected to serve as a critical platform for talent discovery, athlete development, and preparation for upcoming international competitions.

“The championship is expected to bring together some of Nigeria’s finest para-powerlifting athletes, further reinforcing the country’s dominance in the sport. It also underscores Nigeria’s commitment to para-sports and inclusive athletic development.

“The Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation invites stakeholders, sports enthusiasts, and the general public to witness this exciting display of strength, resilience, and national pride.”
