As many as 200 people may be trapped in a building on fire in Moscow
A fire in Moscow has already claimed the lives of three people – and up to 200 more may still be trapped.
Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said the fire broke out at a building under construction in the north of the capital.
Firefighters determined the blaze was confined to the second and third floors.
According to the fire department, three people have been killed while seven have been injured. Some 31 have been rescued while three more sought medical attention before firefighters arrived.
Authorities say the fire is spreading. The emergency response severity has now been raised to level four.
The Savelovskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
