Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua is set to sign his part of a contract that will see him fight fellow-British icon, Tyson Fury, before this year runs out, Sports247 reports.

In what could be the biggest step closest to achieving a much-vaunted all-Brit battle between both former champions, ‘AJ’ is reportedly ready to sign the dotted lines of a mega-fight contract sometime next week.
A report by UK’s Sun Sport added, “Fury, 37, ended his 16 months of retirement in April by beating Arslanbek Makhmudov, 36, over 12 rounds at Tottenham before calling out AJ. But Joshua refused to get in the ring for a face-off.
“Fury claimed in the aftermath that he had signed a three-fight deal which includes terms for an overdue grudge match with AJ. Joshua, 36, is still negotiating his side with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh while plotting a warm-up bout in July.”
However, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn added flesh to the development when he told Betfred’s Sportsman Boxing: “Supposedly, Tyson Fury signed and now Turki Alalshikh’s just got to get AJ signed and they’ve got the fight.
“There have been drafts going back and forward. I say we’re pretty close now but not done. But we are 100 per cent committed to making the fight and I think there’s a very good chance it will get done in the next week.”
