Arsenal reportedly sent a scout to watch Nicolo Tresoldi in action for Club Brugge at the start of April as they step up their pursuit of the 21-year-old striker.
The Germany U21 international, who is also eligible for Argentina and Italy, has scored 18 goals in all competitions so far this season and his form is being closely monitored by a host of top European clubs.
Tresoldi joined Club Brugge from Hannover 96 for a fee of €7.5 million last July and he has emerged as a key target for Arsenal in recent weeks as the Gunners look to bolster their forward options this summer.
Gabriel Jesus is widely expected to leave the Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2026-27 season, after four years at the club, while questions persist surrounding the capability of Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres to lead the line moving forward.
As a result, Arsenal have been linked with a number of new strikers in recent weeks, with Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez considered to be their primary option as things stand.
However, Barcelona are also interested in landing the Argentina centre forward, while it’s understood that a move to north London will not take place unless either Havertz or Gyokeres are sold, with Arsenal needing to raise funds through player departures.
Arsenal want Nicolo Tresoldi
FootballTransfers has previously confirmed that Inter Milan starlet Francesco Pio Esposito is also on Arsenal’s radar, with Tresoldi emerging as an alternative since the turn of the year.
The 21-year-old has been in immense goalscoring form since his arrival at Club Brugge last summer and, as reported by Italian reporter Nicolo Schira, Arsenal sent a scout to monitor his performance against Anderlecht in early April.
Tresoldi failed to add to his tally of goals this campaign, but he registered an assist for team-mate Christos Tzolis en route to a 4-2 win. Feedback to the Arsenal hierarchy will therefore likely have been positive.
The Germany youngster has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €11.7m, but this is expected to increase sharply over the coming months, while Club Brugge are likely to demand a far higher fee if Arsenal intensify their pursuit this summer.
