Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has delivered his latest update on the market, including Alejandro Garnacho’s situation at Chelsea and the rumours linking Real Madrid’s midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to Manchester United.
Rosenior sends clear Garnacho message
Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with a quick exit from the Stamford Bridge club after a move from Manchester United last summer.
“In the last two or three days we had many reports on Garnacho, including one story saying he could leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window,” Romano told his YouTube channel. “Now we have the reaction directly from Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, who went public and said, I do not know where this story is coming from, but Garnacho is 21, he has special skills, and my job is to help him do his best for the club.
“The message from the manager is one of trust for Garnacho. It has been a complicated season for the Argentine winger, but at the moment Chelsea’s message is very clear. They still want to believe in him and trust him.
“What I understand is that Chelsea’s general approach to the market could also include the possibility of adding another winger to the squad for the 2026-27 season. So they may want one more player in that position. But before we mention names, plans, exits or incomings, we need to understand several things, including Champions League football, which is crucial for Chelsea planning.
“Chelsea’s recent form has been poor too, with four defeats and no goals in the last four games under Liam Rosenior. So there are several things to check before making any clear calls on the squad. For now, there are no bids and no concrete negotiations for Garnacho. It is a cold situation at the moment.”
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. set for Al-Nassr promotion
Al-Nassr are ready to promote Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. to their first team in a move that Romano described as being a “special” one for the Portugal star.
He said: “Al-Nassr are seriously considering including Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who is about to turn 16 in June, in the first-team setup from next season, 2026/27. The board, the technical staff, and the people at Al-Nassr are all considering it.
“Al Nassr are doing very well in the Saudi Pro League, leading the table and getting closer to the title. That first league title with Cristiano Ronaldo would obviously be a huge achievement, but this is about Cristiano Junior too. He could be part of first-team training, and we will see whether he is also included in the official squad next season.
“This is important because Cristiano Ronaldo has always dreamed of playing at least a few games with his son. That would be a dream for him, and now it is becoming a real possibility.
“Al Nassr have not made an official decision yet, but they are seriously considering it internally, and they are assessing the best options for Cristiano Junior’s future. So keep an eye on this one, because it could be a huge moment in 2026-27.”
Kroos to return to Real Madrid
Several key figures at Real Madrid are eager for Toni Kroos to return to the club, although his role has yet to be defined.
Romano confirmed: “What I can tell you is that there are really important people at Real Madrid pushing for this possibility. They want to bring Toni Kroos back, obviously not as a player, but as part of the management structure.
“The role is still not clear. Before saying anything is close, they need to meet with Toni Kroos and discuss what kind of role it would be, and whether it would appeal to him.
“What I can tell you is that Toni Kroos feels real love for Real Madrid, and he would be open to returning one day. But the role matters. You cannot just say yes to any role. You need to understand the job, the responsibilities, and the opportunity.
“So there is still work to do before we can say, here we go, Toni Kroos is returning to Real Madrid. We need patience, and we also need to understand the manager situation at Real Madrid because the manager is not just a manager there, he is the face of the project. That will matter too.
“For now, Real Madrid are tempted by the idea of Kroos returning, but they still need to understand the eventual role and whether it would be attractive for Toni.”
Aurelien Tchouameni: Real Madrid star to make Man Utd move?
Recent days have seen rumours build the France midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni could join Manchester United. Romano says the Red Devils want big-name signings, though he is less certain about Real Madrid being willing to part with the former Monaco man.
“Let me be clear. I already told you that Manchester United will go for two midfielders in the summer. Let’s see if it becomes more, but at the moment the indication is two. And United want important names, not small names,” Romano said.
“They are considering several midfielders. I already mentioned Elliot Anderson, and also Sandro Tonali. These are names they really like. Tchouameni is certainly appreciated too.
“But at the moment, from Real Madrid, there are no signs that the club want to open the door to a summer exit. So you can appreciate Tchouameni, of course, but to think seriously about a move, you first need to understand what Real Madrid want to do. Right now, they are not indicating any intention to let him go.
“So we will see what kind of players Manchester United decide to bring in. Elliot Anderson is one of them, but Manchester City are also on him. So it is going to be a very big midfield summer. But for now, that is the situation on Tchouameni.”
