Akor Adams has described his ongoing campaign with Sevilla FC as a mix of personal progress and collective challenges, as the Super Eagles forward continues to make his mark in La Liga.

Speaking during a La Liga media session following his nomination for the Sporting La Liga MVP award, Adams credited fitness, trust from his coaches, and team support as key factors behind his standout performances this season.
“I want to thank God that I’m healthy and available for the team. The coach has to trust you to play, and my teammates make it easier,” he said.
The 26-year-old forward has been one of Sevilla’s most influential players this season, contributing goals and assists in crucial matches, including victories over top sides. Despite his individual impact, Adams admitted the team’s overall campaign has not met expectations.
“The season has not been the best as a team, but personally, I’ve tried to contribute by scoring and assisting as much as I can,” he noted.
Adams, who has registered multiple goal contributions in the league this season , emphasized that his ambitions remain tied to the club’s success rather than individual accolades.
“I don’t rate my season until it’s over. My priority is to keep the club in a good place,” he added.
On the international stage, the striker reflected on Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing it as a major disappointment while calling for collective responsibility moving forward.
“It’s a sore loss for us and for Nigeria. It’s not just the players, but everyone involved must ensure we don’t repeat this. The preparation for 2030 starts now,” Adams stated.
He also highlighted the confidence boost that comes with representing the national team, noting that his involvement with the Super Eagles has had a positive impact on his club performances.
“There’s a level of confidence that comes from playing for your country. It helps mentally and pushes you to improve,” he said.
Adams further spoke about adapting to multiple managers at Sevilla, revealing that quick learning and tactical discipline have been crucial to maintaining consistency in his performances.
“As professionals, you don’t have time. You have to adapt quickly to what each coach wants, and I focus on listening and executing,” he explained.
With Sevilla still battling for stability in a highly competitive La Liga table, Adams remains confident the team can finish strongly.
“La Liga is very unpredictable. We are calm and focused on our games. We still have the opportunity to finish as well as possible,” he concluded.
