Liam Rosenior responds to sack talk
Liam Rosenior is under huge pressure after six losses in Chelsea’s last seven matches, but he insists that he retains the full support of the club’s hierarchy.
When asked if he feels backed by the Stamford Bridge owners ahead of the Blues’ clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, he told reporters: “100%. They’ve been supportive of me in our daily conversations, sporting directors involved, they’ve been magnificent in their support of me and the team.
“We’re relying on them, we know we need to win games of football in the now. That doesn’t go against what we’re trying to do, which is give consistent success to this club in the long term.”
Chelsea have lost their last four Premier League matches without scoring a goal and they are now closer to Newcastle United in 14th (six points) than Liverpool in fifth (seven points).
Diego Simeone wanted?
Chelsea have prioritised youth in their player and managerial recruitment over the past few years, but Spanish outlet Fichajes report they are willing to go “all out” to appoint Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone this summer.
The Argentine has enjoyed an immensely successful 15-year spell with Atleti and he has guided them into the Champions League semi-finals this season following a mesmering win over Barcelona in the quarter-finals.
Simeone has been linked with a Metropolitano Stadium exit for several years, but Chelsea are reportedly looking to finally tempt him away from Spain amid Rosenior’s tenuous position as head coach.
The Sun have confirmed that Simeone is the bookies’ favourite to replace Rosenior, while Nicolo Schira has also revealed that Chelsea are “leaning towards” sacking their current boss this summer.

Nicolas Jackson latest
Nicolas Jackson is “warming to the idea” of playing for Chelsea again following the departure of Enzo Maresca, as per The Sun.
It’s claimed that Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany is a keen admirer of the Senegal star, but a permanent move to the Allianz Arena when his loan deal expires remains unlikely as things stand.
Chelsea were expected to offload Jackson this summer, but the player has reportedly been in contact with a number of Blues players, including Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, ahead of a potential return for next season.
However, a final decision on his future won’t take place until after the 2026 World Cup.
Noah Sadiki frontrunners
Chelsea are the “most active suitors” in the race to sign Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki during the upcoming summer transfer window. That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Sadiki is valued at roughly €52 million ahead of this summer.
The DR Congo international is also wanted by Manchester United, but Chelsea held talks with his representatives last week and he could be pursued as a replacement for Romeo Lavia if the Belgian departs west London this summer.
Sunderland, however, have no intention of sanctioning a sale and are keen to retain Sadiki’s services for at least another year.
Julian Alvarez update
Chelsea are able to offer Julian Alvarez a “central role” next season, but their failure to qualify for the Champions League could end their chances of agreeing a deal, as per TEAMtalk.
It’s reported that Alvarez wants to play as a central striker if he leaves Atletico Madrid this summer, which is something that frontrunners Arsenal have been reluctant to offer him thus far.
The Gunners had viewed Alvarez as a versatile attacking option, but he is reportedly only interested if he is trusted through the middle. This could open the door for Chelsea, however their lack of Champions league football may be fatal.
