The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year award is often talked about towards the end of the season with the prize given out in August.
And the odds for this year’s award suggests it’s heading the way of Arsenal’s captain Declan Rice.

Rice is odds-on to win in fact and will surely be gifted the award should he help and lead Arsenal to achieve the Premier League title as the captain of the club.
That said, Bruno Fernandes is having an incredible season for Manchester United.
And he’s not completely ruled out at 9/4 and with a few games remaining could snatch the award late on.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder has not only scored eight goals but assisted a staggering 17.
This means he’s on track to potentially break the record for most assists in a single season, which is currently held by both Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
Should he achieve that feat it will be hard to see Rice scooping the award.
However, if Arsenal should lose out on the title it could go the way of the Red Devil.

Other candidates include Erling Haaland who has scored 22 goals in just 30 appearances in his third season for the Citizens along with providing seven assists.
He just about leads the Premier League in most goals scored ahead of Brentford’s Igor Thiago and the top scorers always have a big chance of being voted the PFA Player of the Year.
There also stands a chance that Man City win the league thanks to the Norwegian striker in which case his odds of 8/1 would surely shorten significantly with each passing gameweek.
Especially if the striker, who’s used to scoring braces every week, adds to his tally significantly that he will be the new favourite in the market.
It all comes down to the final few games in the Premier League though and a lot rides on the teams vying for the title and players’ individual accolades.
