Pune Airport in India is facing delays as the runway is reportedly closed after an incident. According to local reports, it will be around five hours until normal operations resume.
A jet fighter aircraft reportedly hard-landed on the runway due to an undercarriage failure. The runway is currently unavailable for civilian air traffic for at least 5 hours. Speaking on X, a spokesperson for Indian Air Force (IAF) said: “Pune runway is temporarily unavailable due to an incident involving an IAF aircraft. The aircrew are safe and there is no damage to civil property. Efforts are underway to operationalise the runway and resume normal operations at the earliest.” The disruption has led to immediate suspension of arrivals and departures, with several incoming flights diverted to Surat and Goa’s Mopa airport as a precaution.speaking on X, One stranded passenger reported “huge chaos” after the 1am Pune to Indore was cancelled.
