Gordon ready to make Newcastle exit
Arsenal have been given a major boost in their chances of signing Anthony Gordon this summer after reports that the Newcastle winger is ready to leave the club this summer.
FootballTransfers has exclusively been told that Arsenal are preparing a bid to sign Gordon this summer as Mikel Arteta’s side aim to find a new star attacker.
And The Telegraph have now claimed that Gordon is ‘interested in exploring his options’ after interest emerged in him, although Newcastle have not been told by the player that he wants to leave.
Newcastle will demand in excess of €90 million for Gordon, with interest expected from the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool as well as Arsenal ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Arsenal enter race to sign Mingueza
Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in signing Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza this summer, according to The Telegraph.
Mingueza is out of contract in the summer and he has signed with the English agency Unique Sports Group to resolve his future, amid interest from Aston Villa and Fulham along with the Gunners.
The 26-year-old can play at right-back or centre-back and could replace Ben White, who is expected to be sold this summer by Arsenal.
Arsenal are considering Mingueza along with a number of other candidates such as Newcastle’s Tino Livramento and no decision has been made yet by the Gunners or the player.
Gunners to battle Liverpool for Marseille star
Arsenal will reportedly fight Liverpool to sign Igor Paixao this summer after Marseille indicated they may look to cash in on their star forward.
The Gunners were linked with a move for Paixao before he joined Marseille last summer for €30m from Feyenoord and the Brazilian has 11 goal contributions from 19 starts in Ligue 1 this year.
Accoridng to Sports Boom, Marseille could need to generate some funds and may reluctantly sell Paixao if they can receive offers in the €50-60m range.
Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be the frontrunners for Paixao’s signature, with the Gunners allegedly ready to make a bid of €35m plus add-ons for the 25-year-old.
Nwaneri facing Arsenal exit after Marseille loan
Ethan Nwaneri could be facing an even more uncertain future at Arsenal after L’Equipe reported Marseille’s disappointment over his loan move so far.
Nwaneri joined the Ligue 1 giants on loan in January but, despite a bright start, the 19-year-old has struggled to be a regular starter under new Marseille boss Habib Beye.
It is claimed that Marseille have not been convinced by Nwaneri’s ‘persistent impression of non-chalance’ and have not played him much despite the loan deal becoming cheaper the more he features.
Nwaneri will return to Arsenal in the summer with the Gunners open to his departure due to his sale representing pure profits on their books.
Zubimendi responds to Real Madrid transfer talk
Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi has officially played down speculation suggesting he could join Real Madrid during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Zubimendi joined Mikel Arteta’s side from Real Sociedad last year, however, reports in Spain have suggested that Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on his situation as they look to tempt him back to La Liga after just one season at Arsenal.
The midfielder won the UEFA Man of the Match award for against Sporting on Wednesday night and was asked after the game about Real Madrid’s historic interest in him.
“I have no answer, but I haven’t been paying much attention to all that,” Zubimendi said. “I think that’s all in the past and I have other things on my mind. It’s not a bad thing.”
