Pope Leo has addressed “the arrogant” in another message about war after Donald Trump called him “weak” and refused to apologise.
“God’s heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies,” the pope wrote in a post on X while on his first papal visit to Algeria. “But our Father’s heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud.”
He continued: “God’s heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there.”
The message followed a lengthy social media rant by Trump over the weekend, who slammed the pope as “weak on Crime and terrible for Foreign Policy” before telling reporters: “I’m not a fan of Pope Leo”.
