RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has delivered a response to significant transfer interest suggesting that he is on course to complete a €100 million move this summer.

The Ivory Coast international is wanted by a host of top European clubs following an excellent debut campaign for Ole Werner’s side, in which he has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions.

Diomande joined Leipzig from Leganes for a fee of €20m last summer and it has been widely reported that at least €100m will be required to finalise a deal during the upcoming transfer window, with the Bundesliga outfit desperate to retain his services for another season.

The 19-year-old’s current contract at Leipzig isn’t due to expire until 2030 and rumours indicate the club have no intention of sanctioning a sale unless they receive an offer that exceeds the €90m paid by Manchester City for Josko Gvardiol back in 2023.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all been heavily linked with a summer swoop for Diomande, but the Ivorian has admitted that he remains focused on performing for Leipzig.

Yan Diomande responds to transfer interest

Speaking to Africa Foot, Diomande admitted: “I’m here, and first and foremost, I have my health, and I work hard every day.

“Hearing these rumours about big clubs like PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, and others interested in me only motivates me even more. I’m keeping a smile on my face, staying cheerful, and pushing forward.”

He added: “My job is on the pitch, and I’m fully committed to my current club. As for the rest, I have a team that takes care of everything; I don’t stress about it. I play in Leipzig, and I’m enjoying myself.”

Analysis: Who should Yan Diomande join?

Although Diomande is yet to consider a summer transfer, interest in his signature suggests that he is unlikely to still be a Leipzig player when the window slams shut at the end of Deadline Day.

Data analytics experts SciSports believe that a move to Premier League strugglers Tottenham Hotspur would be Diomande’s most suitable next club, largely due to the lack of wingers at Roberto De Zerbi’s disposal, while top suitors Man Utd and Liverpool rank second and third.

Chelsea are also regarded as an excellent by SciSports’ Club Fit feature, although a potential move to PSG is viewed as an extremely poor choice, with Luis Enrique’ side ranked as Diomande’s 68th most suitable destination.
