Head coach of the Nigeria Customs Women Volleyball team Suleiman Ajeigbe has declared that his side is fully prepared to challenge for the title at the upcoming Africa Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
Speaking ahead of the team’s departure, Ajeigbe expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness, insisting they are heading into the tournament with belief and determination.
“We are ready,” he said.
The Nigeria Customs team will compete in Group C alongside strong opponents including Zamalek Women’s Volleyball Club, C.F Carthage, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Eagles of Congo, and Kampala City Council Authority.
Despite the strength of the competition, Ajeigbe believes his players have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
“We believe in ourselves,” he implied.
The coach also made it clear that the team is not traveling to Cairo just to participate, they are aiming for the ultimate prize.
“We want the trophy,” he stressed.
Facing defending champions Zamalek will be one of the biggest challenges, but Ajeigbe insists his team is ready to rise to the occasion.
“We will fight for it,” he added.
Preparation has been a key focus, with the squad working on tactics, fitness, and team cohesion ahead of the tournament.
For Nigerian volleyball, the competition represents an opportunity to showcase talent and make a statement on the continental stage.
As the championship approaches, expectations will be high.
