Donald Trump vows 'immediate elimination' for Iran as Strait of Hormuz blockade begins

Donald Trump has promised to ‘eliminate’ Iran again in another explosive social media post as he instructs the US navy to start blocking the Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump has announced the US navy’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin while Iran’s navy “is laying at the bottom of the sea”.

The US president has taken to Truth Social with another explosive post, claiming the military has ushered in its block of the global shipping canal in its stand-off with Iran over the matter.

“Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated – 158 ships,” Trump wrote. “What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, “fast attack ships,” because we did not consider them much of a threat.

“Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea. It is quick and brutal. P.S. 98.2% of Drugs coming into the U.S. by Ocean or Sea have STOPPED!”

Ever since the war erupted on February 28, Iran has effectively blocked the channel, through which more than 20 percent of the world’s oil and gas travels through. After negotiations between Iran and the US ground to a halt on Saturday, with both parties returning empty handed, Trump has indicated he will take matters into his own hands – by preventing any and all ships from passing through.
