Wrexham of Wales goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo was again at his very best in his club’s latest match of the second-tier English Championship, but he could not prevent a 2-0 loss away to Birmingham City.

Sports247 reports that Okonkwo was on for all 90 minutes and added time of the game at Saint Andrew’s Stadium, where the lad with 10 clean sheets this season pulled off some remarkable saves.
However, the former Arsenal of England youth team shot-stopper, who was recently cleared to play for Nigeria, could not prevent another defeat for his promotion hungry team.
While Okonkwo put up a sterling performance, his attackers’ blunt efforts upfront meant Wrexham fell short against Birmingham, who featured vastly-improved Super Eagles’ defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel at right-back for the duration of the encounter.
The result dented Okonkwo’s hope of an unprecedented fourth straight promotion with Wrexham, as their second consecutive defeat left them four points behind sixth-placed Hull City with four games left to play in the season.
A report by Tribal Football stated in part, “A string of first-half saves from Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo kept the home side at bay but he could not prevent Carlos Vicente from nodding in his third goal for the club.
“Christoph Klarer stabbed in a second in the second half to seal the points for Birmingham, who had lost three matches in a row.
“Wrexham were toothless in attack and failed to register a shot on target against a dominant Birmingham team, who climbed to 15th in the table.”
