Donald Trump was filmed throwing an umbrella to one side as he boarded Air Force One in another viral moment, with many questioning the President’s actions.
Donald Trump once again appeared to struggle with closing an umbrella, in yet another moment that has taken the internet by storm.
The episode took place on Friday afternoon as he boarded Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, heading to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Trump made his way up the steps towards the aircraft beneath stormy skies, but as he neared the plane’s entrance, he appeared unable to fold his umbrella shut.
The US President chose to abandon the umbrella altogether, tossing it aside before stepping into the cabin — just as he had done previously back in October.
The moment quickly went viral, with countless people questioning why he was unable to close it himself.
One wrote: “Even in small, insignificant gestures, Trump impressively demonstrates just what an idiot he is. He isn’t even capable of closing an umbrella and leaves that to the Secret Service.”
Another said: ” Donald Trump is getting mocked after video shows him walking away without even closing his own umbrella before boarding the plane.”
A third added: “Trump leaving the umbrella for someone else to close, because he can’t do it himself, is a perfect illustration of what he did with Iran.”
And a fourth commented: “Classic Trump: he couldn’t close the umbrella himself, so he just left it for someone else to deal with. Exactly what he did with Iran.”
Negotiations have pressed on over the weekend between the US and Iran in Pakistan, several days after a fragile, two-week ceasefire was declared. The White House confirmed the direct nature of the talks, describing it as a rare instance of high-level engagement. Iranian state TV reported that negotiations were still ongoing as of 1am on Sunday in Islamabad.
Donald Trump has declared that the US has started clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz “as a favor to countries all over the world”.
In a post on his Truth Social app, the US president stated that Iran’s minelaying vessels “are also lying at the bottom of the sea”.
He further added: “The only thing they have going is the threat that a ship may ‘bunk’ into one of their sea mines which, by the way, all 28 of their mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea.
“We’re now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favour to Countries all over the World, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, and many others. Incredibly, they don’t have the Courage or Will to do this work themselves.”
