Rashidat Adebayo Emerges Winner of 2026 Ogun Women Run 

Adebayo Adeyemi Rashidat delivered an outstanding performance to emerge winner of the 2026 Ogun Women Run, clinching the top prize of ₦500,000 after crossing the finish line in a time of 30:15.61.

The race, held on Saturday in Abeokuta, attracted about 1,000 participants from various age groups, highlighting the growing popularity of women-focused sporting events in Nigeria.

The race commenced at Sapon and concluded at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, with runners competing in a vibrant atmosphere centred on fitness, unity, and women empowerment.

Alawode Omotayo Adiat finished in second place with a time of 31:09.46 to earn ₦300,000, while Akoni Oluwayemi came third in 31:18.65, taking home ₦200,000.

The event was organised by Brussels Sports Management Limited under the leadership of Managing Director Yetunde Johnson, who reiterated the organisation’s commitment to promoting women’s health and participation in sports.

The Ogun State Government also threw its weight behind the initiative, describing it as a vital platform for encouraging healthy living and empowering women across the state.

Participants included a mix of elite runners, amateurs, youths, and elderly women, all united by the shared goal of promoting wellness and active lifestyles.

The Ogun Women Run continues to grow in stature, positioning itself as one of the leading women-focused road races in Nigeria.
