‘Head coach of Nasarawa United, Mbwas Mangut, has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to finish the season on a high as the Nigeria Premier Football League enters its decisive final stretch.
With five matches left to play, Nasarawa United sit fifth on the table with 50 points, trailing league leaders Rangers International by five points.
Their focus now shifts to a crucial away clash against El-Kanemi Warriors this weekend.
The Solid Miners were left stunned after a shock 1-0 home defeat to bottom-placed Kun Khalifat FC, a result that triggered a meeting between the coaching crew and club management.
However, Mangut insists the setback has only strengthened his side’s resolve.
“As we enter the final five games, we have summoned the resilience that defines this club,” Mangut said.
“The time for reckoning is now. We are determined to finish with dignity, competitiveness, and purpose.”
The Nasarawa United boss reaffirmed his side’s ambition to secure a continental ticket and possibly mount a late title challenge,.despite the recent setback.
“We are regrouping, reassessing, and recommitting ourselves to our objectives. Our supporters remain our greatest strength, and we urge them to continue standing by us,” he added.
Mangut also stressed that the defeat to Kun Khalifat FC will not define their campaign.
“How we end the season should not be judged by a single result. We have resolved to rise, fight, and emerge stronger from the setbacks.”
