The Ogun State Football Association (OGSFA) has come down hard on misconduct in local football, announcing the indefinite suspension of two Stormers SC officials following shocking scenes during the 2026 State Federation Cup.

In an official statement dated April 10, 2026, and signed by secretary John Adeleke, the association confirmed that the sanctions stem from incidents that occurred during a heated quarter-final clash between Stormers SC and Gaiters FC at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.
According to the OGSFA, widely circulated video footage revealed that Stormers SC General Manager, Lekan Kelani, physically assaulted a media official attached to Gaiters FC.
In a separate incident during the same match, the club’s Head Coach, Temitope Adekola, was reported to have assaulted the Assistant Referee (AR1).
The governing body described the actions as “unacceptable and damaging to the image of football in Ogun State,” stressing that such behavior would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
As a result, both officials have been banned indefinitely from all football-related activities within the state, pending the outcome of further disciplinary proceedings.
The OGSFA has also summoned the individuals to appear before its Disciplinary Committee on April 11, 2026, at the association’s secretariat for further investigation.
Reaffirming its stance, the association emphasized its commitment to discipline, integrity, and strict adherence to the Laws of the Game, warning that any actions capable of bringing the sport into disrepute will be met with firm sanctions.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions, with many calling for stricter enforcement of rules to protect match officials and maintain professionalism in Nigerian football.
