Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) former president, Andrew Kamanga has expressed amazement and admiration of Nigeria’s football hostel project in Abuja, Sports247 reports.

Kamanga admired the unfolding complex, which is officially known as NFF/FIFA Players Hostel, during a tour he took round the premises and adjourning structures.
The tour was part of his courtesy visit to the president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau at the secretariat of the round leather game in Abuja.
Gusau, who doubles as the president of West African Football Union (WAFU) B, delightfully took Kamanga round choice spots on a tour of the hostel cite and new training pitches under construction.
Kamanga remarked with a tone of admiration: “This is a brilliant concept that you have brought to life with serious commitment and doggedness. It is a worthwhile legacy.”
Sports247 recalls that the hostel project was set in motion in March 2025, when a statement from the NFF indicated that the cite will have two wings, A and B sections, 62 single rooms, four suites and two executive suites.
It will also accommodate two training pitches — one synthetic and one natural grass; with plans to reconstruct the existing synthetic pitch.
At the same time, two dressing rooms for players and officials will be built alongside 1,838-seat terraces for spectators.
It was gathered further that the world football body is funding the project through its FIFA Forward 3.0 programme, to be completed in 24 months.
Gusau said back then that the facility will reduce the NFF’s expenditure on hotel bills, thereby enabling more funds to be allocated to grassroots programmes.
“The NFF is excited about the Players’ Hostel and new training pitches. It is a transformational project around our national teams, and we are grateful to FIFA for providing the funds for these amazing facilities.
“Building a players’ hostel and having new training pitches will not only enhance team management, it will substantially reduce expenditure in these areas and enable us to commit more funds to grassroots development programmes.”
