Ex-NFL star who faced reporter affair allegations makes staggering Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel claim

A former NFL star, who was once embroiled in his own controversy, has shared a bombshell claim about the drama surrounding Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini.

On Tuesday night, a story published in Page Six revealed images of Patriots head coach Vrabel and Russini ‘holding hands and hugging’ at a luxury hotel in Arizona.

Sources told the outlet that the two – who are both married to other people – spent time together at the hotel’s outdoor patio on March 28.

They were also spotted on a private rooftop ‘hugging at sunset and weaving their fingers together as they [stood] face-to-face’, according to Page Six.

Sources close to Vrabel and Russini say both people were at the hotel with other friends which were not visible in pictures.

However, despite their insistence that nothing was improper, the saga has sent shockwaves across the league and now former NFL star Emmanuel Acho has weighed in on the matter.

On his show, ‘Speakeasy’, Acho speculated: ‘Here’s what nobody is talking about in regards to Russini and Vrabel. Somebody hired a private investigator. And why is nobody discussing this? You do realize an iPhone could not zoom in from that distance.

‘You do realize that those shots – those camera shots – were very peculiar and intentional. That was not a fan that just happened to be wandering through Sedona, Arizona, and it was like, ‘Oh, is that Mike Vrabel? And who’s that mystery woman?’

‘No, that was, as the article suggested, a spy who took those shots with the camera from a distance.

‘So first and foremost, what nobody is talking about in regards to this situation – the question I’m curious about is just who hired the PI, right?

‘We are led to believe that Mike Vrabel has been married and is currently married, and Dianna Russini is currently married. Not an expert in that aspect of it, but who hired the PI is what nobody has yet to discuss.’

There is no evidence to suggest that a PI had been hired to take the photographs.

At the start of the conversation, Acho had jokingly labelled himself the ‘expert’ on the situation, which may have alluded to previous allegations against the ex-NFL star that he refuted.

In January 2025, a bombshell lawsuit alleged that former FS1 host Joy Taylor had used sexual relations with Acho to further her on-screen career.

Taylor denied ‘each and every allegation against her’, with lawyers branding the lawsuit ‘a transparent attempt to improperly leverage media attention and public perception to extract financial gain.’

Weeks later, Taylor spoke out about the lawsuit that embroiled several Fox Sports stars in scandal, claiming the allegations left her battling ‘dark times’ and ‘trauma’.

Her nine-year stint at Fox came to abrupt end shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Taylor denies all allegations made against her.

Noushin Faraji, a former Fox Sports hairstylist who filed the lawsuit, requested the dismissal of her lawsuit in August 2025 following settlement talks.

Meanwhile, with the Vrabel-Russini drama, sources close to both parties have claimed that they were at the hotel with other friends, who were not pictured.

In a statement to Page Six, Vrabel said, ‘These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.’

Russini told Page Six, ‘The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.’

The pair have known each other for some time. When she was working at ESPN, Russini’s first NFL beat was to cover the Tennessee Titans – who were coached by Vrabel at the time.

The Daily Mail reached out for comment to Vrabel and Russini’s representatives when the news broke on Tuesday.
