Top business executives and industry leaders are set to converge on Ikoyi Club 1938 for the third edition of the Africa Re CEOs’ Golf Tournament, scheduled to take place on Friday in Lagos.

Organised by African Reinsurance Corporation, the annual event has evolved into a prominent gathering for high-level professionals across various sectors, blending sport with strategic networking and corporate engagement.
According to the organisers, over 100 participants are expected to feature in this year’s tournament, maintaining the strong turnout recorded in the 2025 edition, which attracted a similar number of top executives from both insurance and non-insurance industries.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Regional Director for Anglophone West Africa at Africa Temitope Akinowa, highlighted the significance of this year’s edition, noting that it forms part of activities marking the organisation’s 50th anniversary.
She explained that the milestone celebration is themed “Reinsurance Excellence, Securing the Future,” reflecting the corporation’s enduring commitment to innovation and resilience within the global reinsurance landscape.
Akinowa further emphasised that beyond competition, the tournament provides a rare opportunity for senior executives to step away from their demanding schedules, unwind, and build meaningful professional relationships.
“Hosting this tournament is not just business as usual for us. Considering the demanding schedules of senior executives, this event offers a unique opportunity for them to connect, exchange ideas, and foster relationships that drive better performance,” she said.
To commemorate the golden jubilee, organisers have lined up special trophies and exclusive souvenirs aimed at enhancing the overall experience for participants and making this edition particularly memorable.
Founded in 1976 and owned by 42 member states of the African Union, Africa Re has continued to strengthen its global standing in the reinsurance industry, earning recognition among top global reinsurance groups in recent rankings.
