A product of the once vibrant youth development project, Community Action Through Sport (CATS), Oluwaseun Savage made history on Monday as a member of the coaching crew at Inter Lagos FC that achieved promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

Sports247 reports that Inter Lagos will next season compete alongside their local rivals, Ikorodu City FC, another private-owned club, in Nigeria’s top-flight division, and Coach Savage is relishing being part of the success story.
A 1-1 draw with another Lagos-based side, Smart City FC, ensured that Inter Lagos moved to an unassailable 29 points at the top of Conference A in the second-tier Nigerian National League (NNL), though with a game in hand.
Second placed Beyond Limits of Ikenne, last year’s winners, have 28 points from 16 games, while Heartland of Owerri and Smart City both have 24 points from 15 games; meaning none of them can pull level with Inter Lagos (29 points from 15 games).
In reaction to the development, Savage gleefully revealed to Sports247 that it is another feather added to his cap of many laurels, which includes roles he plays with other Lagos-based teams as a very ubiquitous coach.
“I happen to be one of the CATS’ products some years back. I am currently a Level 1 coach educator under the British Council Premier Skills programme and an assistant coach at Inter Lagos.
“I am also the head coach at Dazzle Football Academy as well as head of operations at Asisat Oshoala Football Academy,” disclosed Savage, who is equally a commentator and master of ceremony.
