All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Julian Alvarez, Anthony Gordon and Christian Kofane.
Gordon bid made
Arsenal are ready to pay as much as €95 million to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon this summer, Fichajes claims.
The England international is a long-standing target for Mikel Arteta, and FootballTransfers exclusively revealed last week that the Gunners were expected to place a bid before the end of the season.
Arteta is keen to build an English core, with Gordon eyed to complement Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka. Newcastle’s stance on a potential sale is softening.
Alvarez warned off Arsenal move
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez should snub Arsenal in favour of a move to Chelsea, according to Ally McCoist.
The Argentina international is believed to be a target for both clubs, but McCoist believes that Alvarez would be better off joining Chelsea, where he would get guaranteed game time.
“I think he’s got a better chance of playing more regularly at Chelsea, to tell you the truth, than he would at Arsenal,” he said. “The squad at Arsenal is phenomenal. They’re playing Kai Havertz, sometimes as a false nine, Gabriel Jesus is through the middle, and Leandro Trossard has played there.”
Kofane bid expected
Arsenal are expected to make a “formal offer” for Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane this summer, Christian Falk states.
The Cameroon star played himself onto the Gunners’ radar during their Champions League tie with Leverkusen, and his agent has confirmed that the interest from the Premier League leaders is genuine.
Falk reports that Arsenal will likely test the waters with a summer bid, while Bayern Munich are not in the race to sign him despite rumours to the contrary.
Arsenal lead Diomande race
Arsenal are currently in pole position to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, as per CaughtOffside.
The Ivorian has been strongly linked with Liverpool, but it is understood that he will only join a Champions League club this summer. The Reds are still fighting for a place in Europe’s premier competition.
This is why it is believed that Arsenal are currently better placed to sign the 19-year-old, with the North London club having already made contact with the player’s new representatives.
Olmo snubbed Arsenal
Barcelona star Dani Olmo has turned down a move to Arsenal, Sport reports.
The outlet did not mention a specific time frame, but it is claimed that Arsenal showed an interest in the Spain international when he was not getting much playing time at Barcelona.
However, Olmo is determined to succeed in Catalunya and rebuffed Arsenal. He also turned down Al-Qadisah, who made a lucrative offer for him in February.
