Former England captain Alan Shearer has disclosed that Southampton’s FA Cup victory over Arsenal is not a mere fluke.
Recall that on Saturday, Southampton defeated the Gunners 2-1, knocking the team out of the competition and booking a place in the semi-finals.
Speaking with BBC Sport, Shearer believes it will be ‘incredibly tough’ for Arsenal to win the Premier League after their shock FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Southampton.

“This is not a fluke. Southampton deserve their trip to Wembley.
“They were absolutely magnificent and the job that Tonda Eckert has done, what a night for them. They still had the belief that they could go on and win this game and they did. This is not a fluke. Thoroughly deserved.
“What a job that Eckert has done, the belief that he has given this football club from where they were to where they are now.
‘After Arsenal got knocked out of the FA Cup, it will be incredibly tough for them, mentally, to go on and achieve what they want to achieve.’
