FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 3 April, including the latest updates on Christian Kofane, Enzo Fernandez and Marcus Rashford.
Arsenal in ‘pole position’ for Leverkusen wonderkid
The agent of Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane has confirmed that Arsenal want to sign his client during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking to Daily Arsenal, Depolo admitted: “Arsenal’s interest is genuine. The manager likes him very much. There is contact between me and Arsenal. But their focus right now is to win the league – from there everything will start moving.
“He is a €100 million player. With Kofane, Arsenal will have a top striker for the next 10 years.
“I think it is too early to say, but due to the fact that the player speaks Spanish, like Mikel Arteta, and that William Saliba is originally from Cameroon, I would say Arsenal are in pole position,” he added.
Fernandez fuels Real Madrid speculation
Enzo Fernandez, has once again, spoken of his desire to move to Madrid in the future and admitted life with Chelsea is sometimes ‘difficult’ amid speculation surrounding his future.
Fernandez has already provoked the wrath of Chelsea and his teammates after recent comments where he fuelled talk of him pushing to join Real Madrid this summer by admitting he would love to move to the city.
Now, Fernandez told an Argentine radio show: “Again, I always tell my wife Val that if I had to choose a city to live in Europe, I would really like Madrid. It’s very similar to Buenos Aires, mostly because of the food.”
Fernandez also spoke of his initial difficulties at Chelsea, saying: “The first year and a half, honestly, I didn’t have a good time at all. It was a very big change – the language, the culture, everything.
“I didn’t speak English before. I didn’t even know numbers or colours, nothing. I learned everything there, day by day, in meetings and conversations.”
“Now I speak, I understand everything. And the truth is, it’s difficult – it’s really difficult.”
Arsenal told price for top defensive target
RB Leipzig are reportedly ready to sell Castello Lukeba during the 2026 summer transfer window amid significant interest from Arsenal.
The 23-year-old’s current contract with Ole Werner’s side isn’t due to expire until 2029, but they are willing to accept a sale as they look to maximise the potential fee they could earn via a blockbuster transfer.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who posted on X: “Castello Lukeba could leave RB Leipzig this summer after three years, with both sides open to a move. The club would accept around €65-70m, below his €80m release clause. 23 y/o Lukeba is keen on a new challenge, and his future now depends on incoming offers.”
Multiple reports have confirmed that Arsenal are interested in adding Lukeba to their first-team squad, with Mikel Arteta understood to be a huge admirer of the 23-year-old following his impressive stint at RB Leipzig.
Barcelona ready to sign alternative to Rashford
Manchester United could be hit with a devastating blow to their transfer plans, with Barcelona positioning themselves to opt against signing Marcus Rashford permanently this summer.
According to ESPN, Barca have now started exploring other options to replace Rashford and could look for alternatives to keeping hold of the United star.
Barcelona are understood to have until June to decide whether to activate their €30 million option to permanently sign Rashford but attention could now be turning to Abde Ezzalzouli, whom they have a buyback clause for.
Barca have an option to buy Abde for a reported €20m and they also have an 50% sell-on clause, which would make the 24-year-old’s signing far more affordable than Rashford.
Liverpool eye Tottenham wonderkid
Liverpool have reportedly made a “serious move” to sign Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Archie Gray this summer.
Gray still has four years remaining on his current deal with the north London giants, however he is one of several players who could look to leave the club if they suffer a humiliating relegation down to the Championship this term.
However, Liverpool want to sign Gray this summer and they have already made “serious moves” to sign him, according to transfer reporter IndyKaila.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are among the teams to have been linked with a summer move for the 20-year-old, and Tottenham could face an uphill battle to retain his services ahead of the 2026-27 season.
