The Argentina international has just two years remaining on his current contract at Anfield and he is among the Reds stars to have been heavily linked with an exit during the 2026 summer transfer window.

Mohamed Salah has already confirmed that he will depart Liverpool following the conclusion of the current season, while Ibrahima Konate is yet to decide whether to agree fresh terms with the Reds or leave the club upon the expiration of his contract in July.

Back-up goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has also been touted to move on to pastures new, and Mac Allister could join him in exiting the club amid reported interest from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are in the market for a new central midfielder following their failure to replace Luka Modric last summer and they have identified a number of top targets across European football, with Mac Allister among their list of options.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side have also been tipped to pursue deals for Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea), Kees Smit (AZ Alkmaar), Angelo Stiller (Stuttgart) and several others, although rumoured interest in Mac Allister refuses to go away and they are expected to explore a transfer this summer.

Alexis Mac Allister wants to join Real Madrid

Mac Allister has been an integral player since his arrival at Liverpool in 2023 and he remains one of Arne Slot’s most trusted men, despite his dip in form this season.

However, the 27-year-old has privately expressed his desire to complete a summer move to Real Madrid, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

It’s claimed that Mac Allister has asked his agent to negotiate a possible transfer to the Bernabeu, and he believes that an agreement could be possible if he pushes Liverpool to accept a deal.

Despite this, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at a whopping €118 million and Real Madrid may be unable to fund a deal at this price, especially given they are also expected to pursue a new central defender this summer.
