Just a few weeks on from the Patriots’ heartbreaking defeat in Super Bowl LX, quarterback Drake Maye has decided to make a drastic change to his appearance.
Maye had one of the worst performances of his career in the game on February 8 – turning the ball over three times resulting in a 29-13 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.
After a regular season where he earned well-deserved consideration for the Most Valuable Player award, his playoff performance was not up to par.
In his post-game interview, Maye was overcome with emotion as he struggled to come to terms with the loss – but he now seems to have put that behind him.
On Tuesday, the Patriots star was all smiles as he was seen getting his head shaved in a bid to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital ‘Saving by Shaving’ event.
In a viral video, shared by the Patriots on X, the 23-year-old laughed along as his wife, Ann Michael Maye, started the haircut by running some clippers over his head.

By the end of the day, Maye was sporting a brand new buzz cut look. On top of that, more than $4 million was raised as part of the fundraiser.
The couple’s public outing comes just a few weeks after the Super Bowl defeat, as well as the defiant message sent out by Ann Michael shortly after it.
‘Not how we wanted it to end but still thanking God for this incredible season,’ Ann Michael wrote on Instagram.
‘We are blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people, who made this season what it was. This is only the beginning!!’
Maye, meanwhile, had admitted that he’d want to change his play in the biggest game of his career.
‘I’d like to go back to the beginning and redo it,’ Maye said of the game.
However, he also called the loss a ‘learning experience’ and vowed to get back to a game that Patriots fans have been used to appearing in.
‘Appreciate the fans, their support. I know I didn’t play as well as I would’ve liked down the stretch,’ Maye said, according to NBC Sports Boston.

Maye also said, ‘I think you can use it as a learning experience. It’s an experience I’ll have a chance to remember for the rest of my career, the rest of my life.
‘But it’s a chance to go and battle back from something that didn’t go your way, you wish would’ve gone different.
‘Gives you fuel to remember that and it gives you something to work for.’
2025 was a big year for Maye. Not only did it mark the start of the best year of his NFL career, but he also tied the knot with Ann Michael in January.
