The National Sports Commission (NSC) officially received the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Evaluation Team in Nigeria as the country advances it’s bid to host the 15th African Games in 2031.
This was revealed today (Wednesday) on the X handle of the NSC.
“The delegations are undertaking a comprehensive inspection of key sporting facilities, supporting infrastructure, and Nigeria’s overall readiness to stage Africa’s premier multi-sport event,” NSC stated.
“The visit marks a critical milestone in the bidding process, with technical experts assessing Nigeria against established continental hosting standards.
“Nigeria’s bid is anchored on a clear vision, not only to host the Games, but to deliver long-term impact through infrastructure development, youth engagement, and economic opportunities driven by sport.
“With a proven history of hosting major international competitions and ongoing investments across the sports ecosystem, the country is positioning itself as a strong and credible host.
“The leadership of the NSC reaffirmed it’s commitment to presenting a compelling case, one that reflects Nigeria’s capacity, organisational strength, and ambition to deliver a world-class African Games experience.”
