Bayern Munich chief reveals they won’t accept £173million bid for star player in major Liverpool transfer blow

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has shut down the prospect of Michael Olise completing a summer move to Liverpool.

The former Crystal Palace star has excelled at Bayern with 36 goals and 43 assists in 94 appearances across all competitions since joining in 2024.

Now heading towards the end of his second season in Germany, Olise will likely be preparing for plenty of interest in the transfer window.

One club who have been linked with the Frenchman are Liverpool as they prepare to bid an emotional farewell to Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian announced on Tuesday that he will leave the club at the end of the season to end a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield.

Liverpool are therefore set to splash out to bring in his successor, with SPORT BILD claiming the Merseyside outfit would be prepared to offer around £173m for Olise.

But according to honorary Bayern president Hoeness, the 24-year-old is off limits.

He said: “Liverpool have already spent €500million [£432m] this year and are having a very poor season.

“We won’t contribute to them playing better next year.”

Hoeness added: “We play this game for our fans.
