£67m Arsenal star set to miss season-defining games amid spate of injury woes

Eberechi Eze is set for at least a month out injured in a huge blow for Arsenal, eSPORTY understands.

The attacking midfielder was not part of the Gunners squad that lost 2-0 to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening.

It was then revealed on Monday that Eze withdrew from the England squad for the March international break through injury.

The calf injury he sustained in Arsenal’s win against Bayer Leverkusen last week will sideline him for at least a month and potentially six weeks in all.

Eze, who signed from Crystal Palace in a £60million plus £7.5m in add-ons deal last summer, has scored nine goals in 41 appearances.

Arsenal injury issues hit at crucial time

Whilst hopes of an unlikely quadruple were dashed away by City on Sunday, Arsenal will still be dreaming of winning the treble.

However, they may be set to sweat over the fitness of some of their key players throughout the international break.

Eze is one of five Arsenal stars who withdrew from their countries’ squads on Monday.

William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber and Leandro Trossard are out for France, Brazil, Netherlands and Belgium respectively.

Martin Odegaard is also missing for Norway as he remains out with a knee injury.
