NFF Appeals Committee Upholds Kano Pillars’ Three-Level, Three-Objective Deduction Over Crowd Violence

The Appeals Committee, which convened by way of Zoom on Friday, dismissed the protest filed by Kano Pillars, confirming that the penalties handed down by the league authorities would stay in power. The ruling ends the previous champions’ hopes of easing relegation stress by way of an enchantment.

The sanctions arose from violent incidents that marred Pillars’ Matchday Eight house conflict towards Taking pictures Stars on the Sani Abacha Stadium in October 2025.

Following the disturbances, the Nigeria Premier Soccer League docked the membership three factors and three objectives, imposed fines totalling ₦9.5 million, and ordered the indefinite closure of the stadium, citing severe breaches of laws, together with the assault on match officers.

In December, Nigeria Soccer Federation’s Disciplinary Committee granted Pillars partial reduction by lowering the stadium closure to a five-match ban.

Nevertheless, it upheld the three-point and three-goal deduction, ruling that the punishment associated to the assault on officers would stand.

Unconvinced, the membership escalated the matter to the Appeals Committee, searching for a full reversal. That request has now been rejected, leaving Pillars’ league standing unchanged.

The choice leaves Kano Pillars sixteenth on the desk with 32 factors from 27 matches, only one level above Bayelsa United, who occupy the ultimate relegation spot.

The ruling comes on the eve of an important fixture, with Pillars set to journey to Ibadan to face Taking pictures Stars.

With the relegation battle tightening, the failure of their enchantment leaves the Sai Masu Gida with little margin for error as they struggle to protect their top-flight standing.
