Futsal project manager Patrick Osek explains that the upcoming tournament will promote unity and lasting peace in Nigeria. Naija Osek revealed this in an exclusive interview with Sports247, highlighting the many benefits of the project, officially named the “National Futsal Championship.” He emphasized that this innovative event will have a positive impact on many Nigerian youths, while instilling various values to better and more progressively enhance Nigeria’s international image. The young organizer added: “This National Futsal Championship aims to bring more peace and development to the grassroots. We also hope to create more job opportunities, promote youth employment, and advance gender equality. We are doing everything we can to inspire young talent to embrace futsal.”
“We hope to discover young talent, provide them with better opportunities for development overseas, and have a positive impact on their lives, like Viktor Osimhen and Asissat Oshoala.”
The project manager further explained that the upcoming competition will also cultivate well-trained, carefully selected futsal players who will form the backbone of the Nigerian national team for the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
The unassuming organizer then appealed to all Nigerians to join the ongoing initiative, which has the support of the National Sports Council (NSC) and Prince Adeinka Anthony Adeboye, Special Advisor to President Tinub on Grassroots Sports Development. “We want young players to compete at the highest level of futsal. Therefore, we need support and cooperation in all forms.” “We have already partnered with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the President’s Special Advisor on Grassroots Sports Development, the National Sports Council, and our official equipment partner Adidas. We believe these collaborations will help us build a strong team to make this program reach a wider audience. We are mobilizing everyone willing to join our mission and calling on all stakeholders to join us,” Osek explained.
