Polo gamers and lovers in Ogun State have renewed dedication to strengthening the sport as stakeholders stage the maiden polo pageant in Abeokuta the state capital.

A large turnout greeted the berth of the game popularly referred to as the “recreation of kings” in Abeokuta, as affirmed by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo who inspired folks of the state to embrace Polo recreation.
Oba Gbadebo described Polo as a recreation of expertise, ardour and love for the advantage of all age teams, urging the host communities to assist the stakeholders within the curiosity of social growth and financial progress.
Additionally, the Olowu of Owu Abeokuta, Professor Saka Matemilola, mentioned the polo pageant was not solely about sports activities growth but additionally serving as a platform to advertise tradition, protect custom and foster unity amongst communities.
In a comment, Former Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun expressed the conviction that Abeokuta Polo Membership was a catalyst for growth throughout the state and pledged his dedication to helping the membership in each method essential.
Earlier, the President of the Abeokuta Polo Membership, Dr. Sheriff Abdulrahman, had defined that the maiden pageant, tagged “The Daring Step,” was the start of a brand new daybreak for polo in Abeokuta, promising that the initiative can be sustained and enhanced to additional stimulate financial actions within the space.
