In a significant breakthrough for girls’s soccer in Oyo State, Pacesetter Queens have secured a historic promotion to the Nigeria Ladies’s Soccer League (NWFL) for the 2025/26 season — marking their first-ever look in Nigeria’s elite girls’s soccer division.
The Oyo State-owned membership achieved this feat after efficiently buying the league slot of Benue Queens, a transfer that underscores the state authorities’s rising dedication to growing girls’s sports activities and strengthening its soccer construction.
Confirming the event, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports activities, Alhaja Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, described the promotion as a milestone within the state’s sports activities renaissance, noting that Pacesetter Queens will now function the official girls’s staff of Nigeria Premier Soccer League (NPFL) aspect, Taking pictures Stars Sports activities Membership (3SC).
“This can be a new daybreak for girls’s soccer in Oyo State. Pacesetter Queens will complement the construction of 3SC and supply a pathway for younger feminine footballers to showcase their expertise on the highest stage,” Adegoke said.
