Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA) has called on fans to support Ibom Angels Football Club to help prepare for the first home match of the 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership season. Ibom Angels will play against Bayelsa Queens in the 2nd match of the season on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The match will be held at the Uyo Township Stadium at 4pm.


In the opening round of the season, Ibom Angels lost 1-2 to Rivers Angels in Port Harcourt but came out strong against one of the best women’s football teams in the country. On the other hand, Bayelsa Queens defeated Delta Queens 1-0 in Yenagoa.
Akwa IbomThe Chairman of the State Football Association, Mr Samuel Umoh, expressed confidence in the ability of Ibom Angels as they seek to bounce back from their first defeat. He commended the team for their outstanding performance against River Angels and urged them to build on their performance as they prepare for the home crowd.
“Despite the loss to River Angels, our girls showed great potential and performed well. I am sure they will come out stronger and do their best to win against BayelsaQueens,” said Mr Umoh. “The FA fully supports Ibom Angels and will provide all necessary support to ensure a smooth and successful tournament. We request that the fans come out in large numbers to cheer the team and create a wonderful atmosphere for the players.”
Mr Umoh also assured the team that Akwa IbomFA will ensure all logistical requirements for a smooth and enjoyable game. He urged the fans to come to the stadium to support Ibom Angels in their goal of achieving victory at home.
