Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has suggested Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta target Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming January transfer window.
Ferdinand believes Osimhen is a prolific goalscorer who can help Arsenal improve their title chances. The club has struggled with a lack of attacking firepower this season, often relying on set pieces to beat opponents.
Currently, Arsenal sit third in the Premier League behind Liverpool and Chelsea.
Ferdinand told Football Transfers : “Arsenal currently don’t have a number nine who can influence the game. I suggest signing someone who can make an immediate impact. I would go with Osimhen.”
While Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and may not be available in January, a move in the summer of 2025 could be more realistic.
One of the most dangerous strikers in Europe, Osimhen would greatly strengthen Arsenal’s attack and improve their chances of winning the Premier League title.
The Gunners take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend and will be looking to keep up with Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the table.
